Countdown to Christmas with a time to reflect

I have totally neglected this blog, sorry. ;) Between spending 2 weeks in FL, then dealing with some health issues with my daughter, I have been a little busy. Oh yea and it is Christmastime to boot. As we get closer to Christmas, the more excited I get. This is the first year we are spending Christmas here in NC and the first year that we arent traveling home to be with family. My aunt went to FL last weekend (she lives down the road from me) and brought back tons of presents from my mom and my husbands grandparents. I totally want to tear into the presents NOW, but alas I am going to be patient and wait. On the other hand after the "tear into the presents excitement" left, I was feeling a little bluesy. I miss my mom terribly and it's all I can do to not jump into the car and drive to FL. Then I realize this is a great Family time for me and my little family. Michael may be deployed next year we just dont know. We only have 8 months of recruiting left and truth be told I am a little scared of whats to come. It's weird I was really upset and hated recruiting life in the begining. I honestly didnt know how we were going to handle the "recruiters lifestyle", but now 2.5 years later we are in a groove with everyday life and changing that literally scares me. Yes the hours suck and my husband is always stressed out, but atleast he is home most of the time. I look back and I should have been more grateful for the time we got to spend together and not bitter for the time we didnt.

Ok so let me get off that soapbox and onto some fun.... In honor of Christmas I would like to give out a little RAK. So if you leave a comment, I will draw a name on Saturday December 22nd.

And you know I cant leave a blog post without photos- here are some recent ones :)

And since this is supposed to be a scrap blog here is some scrappy work :)

Merry Christmas Everyone :) Have a wonderful Day, Amanda

Myrtle Beach

We had a fabulous time down in Myrtle Beach. I just wanted to share some photos with you all..

Emily when we first arrived in Myrtle Beach. Guess what we did, thats right SHOPPING!!!!

One night my hubby and I went out to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. We went out to eat at Cracker Barrell, walked on the board walk and played a game of putt putt. This is Michael and I after our game of putt putt. I kicked his butt by 2!!!! WOOHOO...

What's Myrtle Beach, without the beach?????? This is one of my favorite pictures from the beach.

Fantastic Friday

Whew I have been home for about a week now and I am still trying to catch up on things. I am not sure if I will be able to lol. Things just get crazier from here. I work this weekend at my LSS, then next weekend is my little girl's 2nd birthday. Where did the time go????? and then a few days later I leave for florida for 2 weeks. I am working the Memories Expo in Orlando for Rusty Pickle and then spending Thanksgiving in Fernandina with my family. Even though it is soo busy it is my favorite time of the year and I cannot wait for Christmas. Ok enough about all that.

I am soo excited to tell you about my first kit on the scrappy gourmet. I am beyond estatic over this opportunity. Here is the Layout-- Be on the lookout for a couple more kits coming soon :)

Also over on the Rusty Pickle blog, they are doing monthly challenges you have to check them out. Here is my sample for this month---

Terrific Tuesday

Things have been absolutely crazy here the past week and unfortunately it doesnt look like it is going to stop till December. Between working, Scrap deadlines, Holidays, and my baby's 2nd birthday, I will be on the go. I do have a little break though at the end of this month, a trip to Myrtle Beach for 3 days with my husband's grandparents. (I am SOOO excited)

Well that is what's happening around here. Dont forget to visit Rusty Pickle's Blog
